Oleskiw: The Home Of The Country Club

Oleskiw is often referred to as The Country Club. That is because it is the home of The Edmonton Golf and Country Club. While it is one of the major features of the neighbourhood, it is not the only thing it has to offer.

The Country Club is among the larger residential neighbourhoods in the City of Edmonton. It has more than 2,800 residents. Most of which live in single-family homes. Going around the streets of the community, you will find a mixture of traditional and modern homes.

The calm ambiance that the neighbourhood offers is perfect for homebuyers who like spending some time outdoors. Enjoy nature in public green spaces and parks. Various recreational activities, such as cycling, hiking, and walking, can be done in Edmonton’s extensive ravine system while marvelling in the beauty of the North Saskatchewan River Valley.

Oleskiw also offers accessibility. While the best means of transportation for most residents is driving, public transit is also available. The neighbourhood is connected by some bus lines with stops not far from residential areas. The place is also bike-friendly as it provides a good cycling infrastructure.

Locals can easily get to Misericordia Community Hospital and Westgate Center. High-end shopping malls and dining centres are close. West Edmonton Mall is nearby. A short distance north of the neighbourhood takes you to Fort Edmonton Park, Southgate Centre, University of Alberta, and Whyte Avenue.

Families with children still in school get access to public schools like Hillcrest Junior HighSchool, Jasper Place High School, and Patricia Heights Elementary School. There are also designated Catholic schools, including the Blessed Oscar Romero High School, H.E. Beriault Junior High School, and Our Lady of Victories Elementary School.

Although about 35% of the local population is made up of people aged 60 years old and above, the community is a perfect choice for anyone looking for a quiet place that also offers accessibility.
