The Majestic Neighbourhood That Is Parkview

The beauty of Parkview can be seen at first glance. The mature trees around the neighbourhood, the well-landscaped homes, and breathtaking views of the North Saskatchewan River Valley system are enough proof. But the charm of the community goes beyond the scenery. Since most of the development happened during the mid-to-late-1950s, most residential structures are single-detached homes. But, a small apartment-style building is in the centre of the neighbourhood.

Homebuyers can find units in various sizes. Despite the quiet streets, the neighbourhood still offers accessibility with the help of a unique modified grid street network. A short car ride will lead to the closest highway. Locals can quickly access Whitemud Drive and Stony Plain Road. It is also easy to go Downtown, to West Edmonton Mall, and to Misericordia Hospital.

Driving is the most convenient way to move around, especially since finding a parking spot is not hard. While commuting can be challenging for some, Parkview has around 20 bus lines. The bus stops are near most residential structures. Additionally, the neighbourhood is also bike-friendly since there are bike lanes. Residents can easily buy necessities in the Valleyview Shopping Centre, which can be found on142nd Street. It has composed of five different businesses serving not only Parkview but also nearby communities. It only takes a short walk from most homes to get to the schools in the area.

For public schools, residents can go to Parkview Elementary and Junior High School and Ross Sheppard HighSchool. Designated Catholic schools are also available. These include St. Francis Xavier HighSchool, St. Paul Elementary School, and St. Rose Junior High School.

The population is fairly stable as a high percentage or almost 37% are 50 years old and above. However, people of all ages may find the community appealing. The community league is active and hosts multiple sports and other social activities throughout the year.
